Open Up: To Wines from AustraliaCome say G'day and enter to win a trip for two Down Under at the Wine Australia Oasis at the 31st Annual Chicago Jazz Festival '09While the Chicago Jazz Festival has been the longest running lakefront music fest and a treasured city tradition for 30 years, the 2009 festival, taking place September 4-6, will offer an entirely new opportunity to lounge back and relax thanks to Wine Australia. For the first time in the festival's history, an escape from the hustle and bustle will be provided in the middle of Grant Park with Wine Australia's Wine Oasis. In an effort to allow Chicagoans to open up to wines from Australia, the organization has established a haven for Jazz Fest attendees to escape under the shade of umbrellas in a modern lounge atmosphere while enjoying delicious and unique Australian wines at $6 a glass or $2 for a 2oz sample. As an added bonus, Australian winemakers Phil Sexton of Innocent Bystander and Tom Carson of Yabby Lake will be on hand, offering wine lovers a chance to expand their knowledge of these new world varietals. The Wine Australia Oasis will offer three separate bars, each providing exciting wines sold by style in order to allow visitors a convenient way to experience new wines, whatever their taste. The first bar will offer crisp and refreshing varietals such as Rieslings, Semillons, Sauvignon Blancs, Pinot Grigios and more. At the second bar, rich and elegant wines such as Roses, Chardonnays and light reds will be offered while at the third, will be a delicious variety of bold and impressive red wines. Attendees also have a chance to win a trip for two to Australia. While the Wine Oasis is an opportunity to explore Australian wines that should not be missed, for those who simply want to grab a glass of Australian wine to take back to their seat, a walk-by concession, offering a number of Australian wines, will also be onsite at the festival. For the first time in its history, a relaxing, modern and sophisticated haven is being offered at the Chicago Jazz Festival and Wine Australia is making sure it is an unforgettable experience - for wine lovers, music lovers and those who just enjoy a place to escape from it all. |
